Replace Every Year for Best Results--Easy Click Off, Click On

Replace the shaving head every year to keep your shaves close and comfortable. The RQ10 head easily clicks on and off the unit for simple replacement.

• Switch off the razor and disconnect it from the power outlet.
• Remove the Shaving Head Unit from the razor by pulling it straight up away from the razor.
• Place new Shaving Head Unit back on the razor and push down until you hear a click. The Shaving Head Unit will only fit correctly in one position on razor. Make sure to align the raised notch on the Shaving Head Unit (1) with the slot inside the top of razor (2).

This review is from: Philips Norelco RQ10 Shaving Unit, Triple Track Replacement Head (Health and Beauty) The Shave: The floating heads on the Norelco electric shaver really do a good job of conforming to the curves of my face. It takes me about five minutes to shave according to the built in timer on the handle. The shave is much more uniform than that of the Braun 3615 that I have been using for the past few years. However, the shave is not as close. Before the Braun, I used a Norelco 5801. This model is a big improvement over the old Norelco which was slow and not very close at all.. The trade-off with respect to the Braun is one of a closer shave using the Braun vs. a more uniform shave with the new Norelco. Maintenance: The clippings are collected in pockets under the shaving heads, This is an advantage in that the clippings are not scattered over the bathroom sink as they are with some electric razors. The pockets have to be cleaned out every shave or two. This is not a big problem. It only takes a few seconds. The manual indicates that the RQ10 shaving head... I purchased my Arcitec when they were first released and was pleased with the shave and over quality of the razor. My replacement heads have been a different story. Either they've change their manufacturing process, or they are reworking rejected or used heads. The body of the head has sharper edges and I'm writing this review with 3 ingrown hairs and a sore upper lip. I need to go over and over an area to get a shave and then it's sub-par. Because of my investment in this razor, I am going to order another replacement head and just hope my last was one just slipped through their quality control or missed some part of the sharpening process. Replace the shaving heads every year to keep your shaves close and comfortable. The shaving heads are easy to replace.

• Switch off the razor and disconnect it from the power outlet.
• Press the release button to open the shaving unit.
• Turn the lock anticlockwise (1) and remove the retaining frame (2).
• Remove the shaving heads and place new ones in the shaving unit.
• Make sure that the projections of the shaving heads fit exactly into the recesses.
• Put the retaining frame back into the shaving unit and turn the lock clockwise.
• Close the shaving unit until you hear a click.

Note: If the shaving unit does not close smoothly, check if you have inserted the shaving heads properly and if the retaining frame is locked.

The razor will remind you about once a year which is fine in most cases. But, if you have a heavy beard or shave more than once a day, as I do, then you should replace the blades every 8 months or so. The reminder on the razor is only a suggestion, not a command. After all, it does not know when the blades get dull. So, I simply ignore the reminder and replace the blades when I feel it is necessary. One thing you must do is use the new blades for several days until they settle in and adjust to your skin. Until then you may have a little irritation. Another problem I have solved is the hair on my neck. I use to think the harder I press the razor, the better it would get those stray hairs. But, all I got was a rash. I discovered that if I simply use a very light touch and not press hard then it got those hairs much better and with no redness. Replace your blades at least once a year and your face with thank you. The razor which I use now is one which is about four years old and still going strong. Replacing the blades [heads] every 6 - 12 months is still cheaper than purchasing a new Norelco razor. I've not noticed any irritation after installing new heads, just a better shave with less effort. Keep your old razor and replace the heads! You can't go wrong! Amazon's price for these HQ 8 Spectra replacements was the lowest I could find on the Internet. Shipped very fast!
