Recently I purchased a Braun 8975 but returned it for refund in favor of a Norelco 9195. For those wondering about Norelco vs Braun I'd like to share my experiences with the two shavers.Norelco: Pros--Quiet, smooth, easy to clean, and has a compact case for travel. It shaves every hair and gets into the hard to reach places easily. Cons--Not quite (but very nearly) as close a shave as the Braun. Braun: Pro--Closest shave. Cons--MISSES HAIRS. Does 95% of the job very quickly; then you struggle to shave the missed hairs by trying different angles and pressures--very aggravating! That is why I gave up on the Braun. It is also very noisy and has a bulky carrying case. And it won't get into the tight spots like the Norelco can. Finally, it takes too long to clean. My last razor was a 6885XL. Although I always though I got a decent shave with previous razors, my new razor is 50% better than the past. I don't have to go over my face as often in order to get a clean shave. I tried the new Arcitec series Norelco, and the new top of the line vibrating Braun Shavers. I returned both. My 7 year old Norelco Spectra shaved closer with one year old blades, than the brand new Arcitec! Plus, it was a pain in the neck to manually clean.(At the time, only Canada had the digital display Arcitec with the cleaning machine option) The Braun was terribly noisy, and vibrated so hard, it was difficult to hold onto for a complete shave. It too did no better than my 7 year old Spectra. The 9190xlcc was the perfect shaver for me. It had the new multi-row smart touch blades, floating and pivoting heads, digital time left counter, traditional handle, and the Norelco self cleaning attachment! Unfortunately, Norelco discontinued this style, but you can still find it both new and factory reconditioned on Amazon! This shaver has all the top features found on several Norelco models, but not all in one! |
